Forest School
🍂 Autumn Leaves 🍂
This week the children were inspired by a book that they found in their book corner. In the story a boy wanted to be a super hero, but all he did was rescue bugs and save his big sister from a spider! He really was a nature superhero! 🦸♂️
Some children decided that they wanted to make superhero masks and rescue bugs in the forest.
The children also enjoyed exploring the crunch of the Autumn leaves, watching how they fall to the ground when they are thrown in the air and seeing how they float on the water.
👫 Teamwork 👫
This week the children have been reading 'The Gingerbread Man' story so we had lots of mud gingerbread men being made in the mud kutchen area!
Children strengthened their teamwork bonds by helping each other to climb up steep banks, carry heavy watering cans and helping to swing their friends in the hammock. The children were particularly interested in making 'mud cement' together in the digging area.
Finally, children enjoyed exploring textures in the forest and they took some bark rubbings of the trees around them.
🦔Hedgehogs🦔
This week the Little Conkers learnt about hedgehogs and hibernation. They made their own hedgehog using Autumn leaves.
Children also gained more responsibilities, they poured drinks for others, shared and tidied up after themselves. Well done everyone!
