Art
Art at Buxworth Primary School
At Buxworth Primary School we want children to reach their full potential in physical, intellectual, emotional, aesthetic, social and spiritual growth, and we share the statements from the National Curriculum in believing that art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. Therefore our art curriculum aims to engage, inspire and challenge our pupils by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design, applying these across different curriculum subjects and beyond their formal education.
As our pupils progress on their artistic journey through our school, we aim for them to be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design, understanding how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation as well as other countries around the world.
